Scripps Inn

Location, location, location. This Inn sits right in front of the Wipeout Beach in La Jolla. You just cross the street, and you're right there. We enjoyed our time relaxing out there, and a lot of the restaurants and other viewpoints are within walking distance from there. We weren't lucky enough to get a room with the view of the sunset, but there are other places (including the beach) where you can enjoy the awesome view. They have 14 rooms, and I think only 5~6 rooms would have an unobstructed view of the ocean. They have beach chairs, umbrellas and some kids' toys you can borrow for free. Also some bicycles.

The beds were comfortable and the location was great.

The location and size of the suite were exceptional. Beds were very comfortable and the living room and kitchen were a good size. It was nice to have a larger fridge than is usually found in a hotel, and the cooktop was nice to have, although we didn't stay long enough to use it. The view of the ocean was fabulous and it was so nice to have the beach towels and chairs provided, with the beach right across the street.. The bikes were also a nice but we didn't have time to use them. Having an extra bathroom sink was a plus for getting ready at the same time. Late check-in was very easy and convenient.

overall location was excellent. across the street from the Wedding Bowl, so most weekends there was always an event or two or three to view from the deck.

Scripps Inn is a sweet little hotel right on the bluffs of La Jolla shores. You can take your coffee out and drink it with a view. Just a little stroll north there is seal beach and a lot of nice restaurants. The room itself was spacious and had everything we needed. Room service is on demand only which we really appreciated. Staff is very friendly and will accommodate you every which way possible. Our room didn’t have a kitchenette only a coffee maker and coffee but that was fine with us.
